CoSchool was founded on a simple but urgent premise: to bridge the growing gap between the technology industry’s demand for skilled talent and the capacity of schools to deliver specialised, high-quality technology education. As a passionate technologist with a background in education, I saw a critical need to support schools not just with technology, but with the strategy, leadership, and capability to cultivate future innovators.

Our mission was to partner directly with Australian schools—both government and independent—to build sustainable technology education programs. We believed that every student deserves the opportunity to learn contemporary skills like software engineering, enterprise computing, and digital innovation, but we also understood the immense pressure on teachers and school leaders to make this happen.

What We Did

CoSchool operated at the intersection of leadership, technology, and pedagogy. Our core services included:

• The Empowering Schools Program: Our flagship initiative, this program provided a direct pathway for schools to offer senior technology courses (such as Stage 6 Software Engineering and Digital Technologies) by upskilling and mentoring their existing teachers. We addressed the critical shortage of specialist ICT educators by empowering the passionate teachers already in our schools.

• Strategic Technology Consulting: We worked with school leadership to align their technology infrastructure and strategy with their educational goals. This involved everything from optimising IT departments and managing digital risk to navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence in education.

• Leadership and Teacher Support: We provided mentorship and professional development for school leaders and teachers, helping them build the confidence and expertise needed to lead technology initiatives and deliver engaging, relevant curriculum.

Our Impact

Through genuine partnership, CoSchool helped schools launch and sustain vital technology programs, enabling them to offer courses that would have otherwise been inaccessible. We equipped teachers with the cutting-edge knowledge and pedagogical tools to inspire their students and provided leaders with the strategic clarity to invest in technology meaningfully.

While CoSchool.com.au has now concluded its operations, the vision of a more technologically literate and capable generation of students remains. The lessons learned from this venture continue to inform my work in driving innovation and empowering people through technology.
